Mosh Pit Rescue is a small, entirely donation funded, 100% volunteer staffed dog and cat rescue.

Thank you for understanding that while we try, we cannot reply to every message. We receive dozens a week and our volunteer staff all have families, jobs and lives. It is our hope that this general info will answer the most basic questions.

 

We wish we could help every single dog and cat in need - but our mission is specific to Grand Rapids, Michigan and the surrounding West Michigan Communities. We do not pull dogs from out of state.  We pull from West Michigan shelters.

We do not take owner surrenders or do temporary holds.  We pull from shelters.  

​

In Grand Rapids, contact the Kent County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society if you need to surrender your family member.

If you have a medical emergency please contact your vet or Blue Pearl Pet Hospital (open 24/7/365) 616-284-5300.

 

If you have found a pet, any vet can scan for a microchip free of charge to try and locate the owner.

If you would like to adopt a pet, the first step is to complete our adoption application. MPR is a foster based rescue meaning that the animals are kept in our foster’s personal homes. We do not have a physical facility. Because these are our homes, not a kennel facility with set hours, an appointment is necessary to meet any of our adoptable animals. Please respect our fosters, their homes and the animals in their care by not showing up without a confirmed appointment.

Pop cans and other 10 cent returnables are welcome and so so so appreciated. Please PM us for drop off spots or sometimes we can arrange pickup for larger loads.  We obviously strongly prefer clean, rinsed cans vs. ones where you forgot to close the top of your chew spit bottle and it's everywhere...  :)   Our volunteers have seen some wild stuff returning cans...
